Why we’re supporting the West End Tennis Tournament

Posted on 10th July 2019 in News

It’s that time of year when the evenings are lighter, we feel like doing more exercise and as Wimbledon comes and goes for another year, our thoughts naturally turn to Tennis.

That means of course that it’s also time for another fabulous event – the Walker Wylie West End Tournament, which we are delighted to be supporting for a fourth year.

New balls please

As Stuart Wylie says: “We love being involved in this fab local event. Tennis is one of those sports that everyone can get involved in. The West End Tournie reflects that, with categories from 8 and under through to 45+, and both singles and doubles events.

Barry Walker adds: “Living in the West End myself, it’s another great community event which gives local tennis clubs the opportunity to promote themselves and get people excited about the sport.”

Game, set, match

With matches taking place from late-July through to late-August, the event culminates with finals day on Saturday 24th August at Hillhead Tennis Club.

So, what are you waiting for? Sign up at http://www.westend.tennis – entries are now open until Saturday 20th July.

And for those people who just like to watch the game, perhaps with pimms and strawberries and cream in hand, don’t forget to like us on Facebook @Walker Wylie West End Tournament and follow us on Twitter @westendtournie
