May property of the monthPosted on 13th June 2019 in News
May’s property of the month is a beautiful semi-detached villa in one of the most desirable cul-de-sacs in Newlands – yet we knew of properties on the same street which hadn’t sold as quickly as expected. Would we experience the same challenges?
Fortunately for our clients – no. We achieved a sale in just a few weeks at a price our clients were delighted with. And the buyers were so impressed with our service and professionalism, they opted to appoint Walker Wylie for the sale of their West End Flat.
Knowing our market
Perfect for a growing family, we marketed the property to the right people in the right way, picking out elements of the property we knew would be important for these potential clients. Launching the property at the end of April, we made the most of a bank holiday weekend and the usual spring upturn in buyers browsing the market.
We combined this with other important factors that are so important when selling a property;
- the right valuation and advice from an expert who truly understands the local market
- exposure on the right online platforms – Rightmove, Zoopla and On The Market
- market-leading promotional materials that show the property at its finest
- an experienced sounding board throughout the entire process, for buyers and seller alike
As Barry Walker says: “We’re immensely proud of our full-proof approach to selling properties and above all, being there for our clients every step of the way.
“We know it works. On this occasion we secured a great value for the property, with happy buyers and happy sellers.”
A beautiful South Side villa
Set within one of the most desirable cul-de-sac settings in Newlands, this semi-detached villa had so much to offer potential buyers. Well-landscaped front and back gardens, a spacious driveway and converted attic space. Outstanding period features included ceiling roses, picture rails, stained glass window inserts and gorgeous fireplaces. And modern elements too, such as a fitted kitchen and a bright spacious windowed lounge.
But we had to be careful we approached the sale in the right way.
As Stuart Wylie explains: “Despite the obvious beauty of the property and desirable location, we knew of properties on the same street which had been on the market for a while. Putting the property on the market at the right price was crucial – and it seems like we got that value just right.”
Why our approach is different
We genuinely care about selling property in a better way. We are local experts (and real people!) who will support you through the process every step of the way, and we won’t charge you commission (which is a fixed amount) until your property is sold.
Barry continues: “We know the Glasgow property market and how to get the best result for your property. And our May property of the month is a great example of that.”
Stuart adds: “Our formula works. So much so that the buyers of this property chose to sell their West End flat through Walker Wylie.”
